BENGALURU: Two Surya Kiran aircraft collided into each other and crashed moments after that at about 11.50am while practicing for the 12th edition of Aero India here on Tuesday. One pilot has been confirmed dead, while two others have sustained injuries. The Surya Kiran aerobatic team has been an eye-catcher at multiple Aero India shows and has recently upgraded to flying the Hawk aircraft. They earlier flew the Kiran trainer aircraft, which has been decommissioned by the Indian Air Force (IAF ). “Today morning at around 11.50am, two Hawk aircraft of Surya Kiran aerobatic team of IAF crashed while practicing for the Aero India Air Show. Three pilots were occupants. Two pilots ejected and have been evacuated to the Command Hospital. Third pilot sustained fatal injuries.
